Completed: Maidenhead, Berkshire
The first phase of this development consisted of 112 new homes with the second phase 58 new homes. Located on land to the north of Maidenhead Town Centre, the first phase was acquired by Ashill from Legal & General, with the second phase acquired from a laundry company. Buildings on site were dilapidated and past their viable use.
Two adjacent houses were secured to enable a new residential access into the site unlocking the land for residential development. In addition to the new homes, new affordable housing has been delivered, along with contributions to mitigate the impact of the new development on local services.
Given the former uses, the land has required significant remediation, in particular phase two which has resulted in close liaison with the Environment Agency over a three year period to remove significant soil contamination and the removal of water contamination through a targeted deep borehole pumping treatment.
The first phase has been built by Barratt Homes and the second phase is being delivered by Oakford Homes, with a total delivery of 180 new homes.
